The death toll in the explosions that occurred at a Christian religious assembly near Kerala's port city has reached three, with an additional four individuals in critical condition, according to the state Health Department's latest update on Monday. A 12-year-old girl named Libina from Malayattoor in Ernakulam district succumbed to her injuries in the early hours of Monday at the Kalamassery Government Medical College Hospital.
Health Minister Veena George confirmed that among the four in critical condition, two were the brother and mother of the deceased girl, both of whom sustained over 50% burns during the incident. The hospital's medical board released a statement, revealing that the young victim was admitted to the hospital on Sunday morning with severe burns covering 95% of her body. Despite receiving ventilator support, her condition continued to deteriorate, leading to her unfortunate demise at 12.40 am. This incident marks the third casualty resulting from the explosions at the convention center.
